Primary Purpose of this position:

Weld metal pipe together for a commercial mechanical contracting operation.  

Specific Job Duties:

• Comply with all safety standards, policies and procedures
• Fuse metal pipe segments together using processes such as gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, flux-cored arc, plasma arc, shielded metal arc, resistance welding and submerged arc welding
• Weld pipe components in flat, vertical or overhead positions
• Monitor the fitting, burning and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion or expansion of material
• Perform normal cutting and grinding tasks
• Ability to fit own pipe together

Position Requirements:

• Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driver qualification policy

Other Requirements:

• Ability to pass employer performance tests or standard tests to meet certification standards of governmental agencies or professional and technical associations
