Position Description

HVAC Service Technician

Primary Purpose:

Service, maintain and repair commercial HVAC systems

Specific Job Duties:

Service, maintain and repair:

  • Follow and adhere to all company safety requirements and processes
  • Low voltage temperature-control systems generally associated with HVAC equipment
  • Direct expansion constant volume, multiple circuited/compressor air conditioning equipment
  • Water-cooled AC units up to 100 tons
  • Water source heat pumps and associated equipment
  • Atmospheric gas fired hot water boilers
  • Air handling equipment and duct systems typically found in larger commercial systems
  • Most gas fired and electric heating systems typically found in commercial equipment up to 100 tons
  • Chilled and hot water piping and pumping systems and associated equipment

Other Requirements:

  • Broad knowledge of larger commercial HVAC equipment
  • Possess type I and type II refrigerant certificate
  • Understanding of single and three phase electrical systems
  • Must have the ability to travel to job sites and occasionally have overnight stays
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company driver qualification policy
  • Must be able to respond to service calls after regular working hours and weekends
