Position Description

 Sheet Metal Shop Mechanic

Primary Purpose:

Fabricate & assemble sheet metal products & equipment such as ductwork, control boxes, drainpipes, ventilators & furnace casings per job order and/or blueprints.

Job Duties:

  • Follow and adhere to all company safety requirements and policies
  • Train to operate all equipment per safety specifications
  • Fabricate and assemble manual dampers or fire damper sleeves
  • Layout and fabricate specialty fittings by hand
  • Operate all power brakes per company and machine guidelines to include adjusting for metal thickness & bend allowances, ensuring quality fold or break marks
  • Operate waterjet machine to include activating valves and pumps, onscreen downloading, proper homing of machine, manually moving waterjet head
  • Operate shears and ensure proper setting for metal thickness
  • Operate and change blades of floor saw and upright band saw
  • Operate plasma to include downloading and properly logging all metals used

Position Requirements:

  • Ability to work 10 hour days
